PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Waymo’s driverless cars are being tested right now on Arizona highways, and one Waymo vehicle recently underwent an unexpected test when someone in Los Angeles tried to steal it on Thursday.
He didn’t get far before a tech realized what was happening, immobilized the car and called the police.
“It may be concerning to think that you’ve called up a Waymo and somebody else tries to get in it and drive away but if you are in something like an Uber or a Lyft and somebody else tries to get in, that is far more concerning,” said Andrew Maynard, a professor at the ASU School for the Future of Innovation in Society …
